HRO, I think, brought this story to the forefront..... Here is the link to our discussion about him which started back in '06! (Seems like yesterday when I read through it). We stray, of course, and it gets a little messy but its worth looking to over imo. I am uploading the picture Mark gave me again since its been so long it dropped off the server: Attachments:

The article below says Alfred Denzler was a farmer, and that he crashed into the little stone bridge that is near the entrance to the road up to the Lindbergh estate. Other accounts say Denzler was a machinist or some type of day laborer, and that he had a collision with another car.
The Tyrone (PA.) Daily Herald Friday, March 4, 1932
Hopewell, N.J., Mar. 4 (INS) --
To Repay Kindness
Not so long ago a farmer was seriously injured when his automobile crashed into a bridge.
A great lady from an adjoining estate took the injured commoner into her car and tended his wounds until they reached the hospital.
Alfred Denzler, the farmer, who never forgot the kindness, closed up his farm today and came over to aid in the search for the baby of Mrs. Anne Lindbergh.
He will not return to work until the baby is found.

Alfred Denzler's accident occurred on April 25, 1931, says the Wednesday, April 29, 1931 edition of The Hopewell Herald. The collision, with a bridge or another car, happened nearly 10 months before the March 1st, 1932 reported disappearance of the Lindbergh baby.
I give special thanks to LKC researcher Rick Green for a copy of the article:
The Hopewell Herald Hopewell, N.J. Wednesday April 29, 1931
"Denzler Hurt in Auto Accident'
Car is Demolished and Driver Tossed Out Unconscious Into Roadside Ditch
Jaw Fractures But His Condition Not Serious
Alfred Denzler, of this place, suffered a fractured jaw, severe cuts about the face and head and painful body bruises is an automobile accident Saturday afternoon which occurred a short distance east of Hopewell at Johnson's bridge. The car which he was driving plunged into the iron bridge and threw him out unconscious into a ditch near the roadside.
After being discovered by two men, an automobile containing Mrs. Anne Morrow-Lindbergh, wife of Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh, and some friends, was stopped and [Densler] was taken to the office of Dr. T. A. Pierson. After medical attention he was rushed to Mercer Hospital, Trenton, in Rorer's ambulance, where his is still a patient. His condition is not regarded as serious.
When found one of his shoes was missing and it was later discovered wedged underneath the [exhilerator] of his car. It is supposed that when his foot stuck fast the machine became unmanageable and caused the crash.
The car was completely demolished.

Denzler Leaves Hospital
Alfred Denzler has returned to work following a stay at Mercer Hospital, Trenton, where he was detained as a patient for treatment of injuries sustained in a recent automobile accident. He suffered a fractured jaw and injuries about the body. The report that he had gone to a Philadelphia Hospital for treatment after leaving Mercer is not true.

Weird I was just thinking about that Denzler thread & I login for first time in a long time & it was just mentioned. Anyway, I remember reading how the Denzler's were supposedly childless but thing was, if I remember correctly, I found evidence of them having a child born before 1932 & the accident & this child living to adulthood. In Texas it seems like. I may be shaky on the details & need to refresh on them. But I do know there were some very odd discrepancies in the Denzler connection. Dena
