I have been meaning to begin this thread for some time. Michaels post about the Tuckahoe woman brought it back to mind: lindberghkidnap.proboards56.com/index.cgi?action=recentAny number of persons have suggested that Mary Cerrita from the Temple of Divine Power may be a good candidate for the Tuckahoe violin woman. And also that Condon was never consistent as to whether they met or not? But there are other women who remain unidentified in the LKC: - Who is the woman who begged Condon to become the go between and help out her family? (Mrs Betty Morrow or Mrs Capone?)
- Who is the woman identified by Det. Harry Walsh in the last chapter of the Jersey Journal articles in November 1932. Walsh claims if she comes forward and squeals it could solve the LKC?
- Who is the woman who accompanies BRH into Abe Samuelson's shoppe to order the wood for the ladder on 20 Feb?
- Who are the women suggested to be Fisch's girlfriend--one possibly accompany he and Uhlig back to Germany by ship?
- There may be one more? The one common thread amongst them is that these women are kept anonymous? Such an Age of Chivalry?

Hello Pat/ here is a post from MM (#18) in the thread about Denzlers car crash:
""Some of Hoffman's team revealed that according to Mrs. Hermann the NJSP had come to interview her during Hauptmann's trial having heard somehow of her account of ransom money being sold. Here is an excerpt:
During the Hauptmann trial two New Jersey Police Officers came to see me. I don't know who told them I knew anything about the case. I told them the same story I have told you and when I finished they showed me some pictures and said THIS IS THE MAN WHO OFFERED TO SELL YOU THE MONEY. I said, "those picture are not of Isadore Fisch, I think those pictures are Hauptmann, but he never spoke to me about money. They insisted that I must be mistaken that if anybody offered me money it was Hauptmann and not Fisch. When I would not identify the pictures they got very rough and said, "you are crazy, and the best thing you can do is to keep your mouth shut. If you keep quiet they cann't[sic] take you out of the State of Connecticut and make you talk, and if you talk the same thing might happen to you that happened to Mrs. Busch, who was a friend of Dr. Condon." end quote
[Mrs Hermann was Fisch's landlady in Connecticut. The interchange seems to show some Connection with Condon? The mystery lady here is a Mrs. Busch?]

Do you have any indication that he did know her?
Good question but there's no way Betty Morrow is at Condon's place begging him to do anything. There's something to this story or Condon wouldn't have said it to O'Sullivan.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he simply suggesting a woman was involved and that woman were notorious for becoming jealous and therefore would betray the gang?
If this event was related to the kidnapping its a good question. I am sure Condon was keeping the Police away from Samuelsohn for a reason. Since they broke weak on Condon after he was willing to identify Hauptmann then we may have been cheated from finding out.

there is no shortage of conjecture that Condon was at least an attender at the Temple of Divine Power acrossed the street from Fisch's apartment in Harlem. Noone thought to take his photo? Wright and Dunniger hooked this up with Cerrita and Biritellas paid trip to Princeton Junction and the "JFC" initials, the letter which shows up in Breckenbridges Office on Tuesday and that Xharlie was found 4 miles from home? If Condon was running a scam--Mary and Peter would be good allys until Madden, Bitz and Spitale interviewed them?
As for Harry Walsh:
11/22/32: Unfortunately for the thrilling details which my readers expect, my Jafsie climax is marred by secrets I must keep in connection with the ransom notes in the interest of justice? These and other facts must remain secret until AFTER the kidnappers are arrested, prosecuted and convicted" (Walsh)
11/23/32: CRIME MAY BE SOLVED; WOMAN MAY SQUEAL? Now we all know that the female sex is prone to be jealous? Not for nothing has the term olde wives tale come into usage and that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Assuming that the intention of the MOB was to keep the kid alive and hold him for ransom--I fell safe to say that some woman was prepared in advance to care for the baby. This may operate to split open the Lindbergh Labyrinth? (Walsh)
Yes Michael this is drama and conjecture of the highest order! Harry Walsh never solved a single murder and should have gone into writing pure fiction/

Are you sure about this? From memory I remember it mentioned somewhere that Walsh solved the Swavely murder. This was a case where the husband murdered his wife and Walsh was able to secure a confession. Correct me if I am wrong because I don't know where this is in my collection.
