Awesome show wasn't it? They sugar coated it a little but it gives more of a realistic approach to who he was and what he was all about. Post WWII Germany was devastated. Lindy wanted to assist in re-constituting the gene-pool there. It had nothing to do with "love." Look at how he met and kept in contact with these women. He was certainly a man with a serious conviction and absolutely had the means to carry it out in the utmost secrecy. And the women were all in on it.
And wow, Allen really has that hustle going for him. I supposed pretending to be an Expert can fool those who don't know much about the subject. But you better believe the real Experts on the show were probably scratching their head wondering who the hell he was.

And if Norman Whitaker's remark to my old chess tutor was true, there were plenty of US offsprings of Lindbergh's eugenic " research " as well !

Possibly so.... I am convinced it was CAL's effort to "assist" the Master Race and its depletion Post-WWII. He was doing his part by reconstituting the gene-pool. These 3 are the only one's we know about. I am sure there were more families - not to mention more secrets. Obviously Lindy was pretty good at pulling off unbelievable things then keeping them secret. If not for DNA his Defenders/Supporters would be calling us Conspiracy Theorists right now for even raising the mere possibility....

In the first article reviewing " The Lindbergh Nobody Knew ", the author points out that CAL hated being called " Lucky Lindy " while the Scheid article poses " Lucky Lindy Or Lusty Lindy " as though the " Or " in the title is exclusive rather than inclusive ( LOL! ). Actually in Noir slang from 1920-50 getting " lucky " was the result of being " lusty " - hence CAL's hatred of being called " Lucky Lindy ". The various Private Inquiries by the Morrow family before Anne's marriage apparently revealed CAL's US affairs which were part of the family's initial opposition to the marriage. As Whitaker said in 1956: " They didn't call him Lucky Lindy for nothing - he couldn't keep his pants zipped up !". The problem this possibility raises is that some of those elderly gents awaiting the results of DNA testing may be a real Lindbergh baby without being Charlie ! And that would make all these murky matters even more murky .
