I didn't know about A Talent to Deceive, by William Norris, until today.
How is it? Is it worth reading?

I really enjoyed it...
It's a theory book that is both well written and an easy read. There's information in it that makes you think. Like any book though - to those who seriously research the case, there will be things you wished he'd addressed, or didn't - or agree because its in line with some personal beliefs, or a little miffed because its not.
For me each theory needs its own personal attention. This book address one that existed since the kidnapping occurred up to the present day.
I've read it twice, and I'd feel like I was missing something if it wasn't on my bookshelf.

Keep it on the fiction shelf, though.

As with any book exploring a theory there will be speculation. Heck, Fisher's book does this all the while attacking others for exactly what he himself does.
Anyway, I feel compelled to mention there is a lot of cold hard facts in the book as well. I sent Bill the Will so if there is any question as to its authenticity ponder no more. It's absolutely real. There's some other very interesting stuff that I sent along, like the Beverly Hepburn angle, which may not be on anyone's "A" list of topics as it pertains to the Case but I love this type of "cloak & dagger" stuff... Especially when it really happened, and while the public and media speculated about who knew what - Bill sets the record straight with source material to back it completely up.
I don't post this to upset Kevin's position, I certainly respect it, but I am the type of guy who doesn't feel comfortable not speaking up when I have something of value (I hope) to say.
It's like Murder of Justice by Wayne Jones. Rick loves that book. I am not so keen to it. Why? I am sorry but I just don't trust Jones completely about some of what he puts out there and I also can't read it very long before I have to put it down again.
It's simply a matter of opinion. But I do and will try to get something of value out of anything on this subject. No matter who writes it or what their position is.

I'm not interested in keeping anyone from reading the book, I just want to be clear on that. JD asked for opinions, mine is that the book has far too many innuendos and fails to resolve any of them. If I look at it as entertainment ( fiction), that's different ( kinda like the Hoax site).

I'll reserve it from my local library. When I get it and read it, I'll follow-up with my opinion. The library has to get it from another branch, so I'm not sure exactly when it will end up in my hands.
