When Katharine Errickson -- the lead prosecutor in the upcoming retrial of former New Jersey Net Jayson Williams -- was fired from her job, she immediately fell ill and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, her attorney said Tuesday.

The details of Errickson's departure remained unclear Monday. Errickson, 38, who is about five months pregnant, had replaced Steven C. Lember as the lead prosecutor retrying Williams for the death of Christofi in 2002.
Lember, a former first assistant, left the office in July citing differences with Hunterdon County Prosecutor J. Patrick Barnes. Lember said Monday he, too, had heard Errickson was gone from the office but did not have confirmation or additional information.

Hunterdon County Assistant Prosecutor Katharine Errickson, 38, was asked to leave her post and given the option to resign, said the attorney, Nancy Erika Smith. Errickson, who is also five months pregnant, was so shocked when she was told to leave the prosecutor's office on Friday, she had to be hospitalized, Smith said.
