If you live in the Pittsburgh area, please note that there will be a reading of my new play about the Lindbergh case on July 22 in Washington, PA (about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh.) The play is entitled Violet Sharp and it focuses on the events leading up to her suicide in June of 1932. The reading will take place at the Washington Arts and Cultural Center at 9 W. Beau St. in downtown Washington. The reading begins at 8 pm. If you are interested in attending, contact me and I will be happy to send you directions and answer any questions you might have about the play.
I have been working on this play for four years. There have been 3 visits to the archives, 1 to the Hopewell house and 2 to the Morrow home in Englewood where much of the action of the play takes place. Much of the dialogue is taken directly from the transcripts of Violet's interrogations at the hands of Harry Walsh. The play does take some liberties and does contain speculation. Nonetheless, it is also based on careful and thorough research as I am interested in presenting a truthful account of the events.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information and please forgive the use of this discussion board for such blatant self promotion. The reading is free, if that makes you feel better about this.
Thanks. Hope to see you there.

Observer-Reporter.com 12/12/2007 Shows worth watching in '08 Terra Nova Theatre Group: Will the sophomore season include Bill Cameron's "Violet Sharp"? It may ... and I emphasize may. Cameron could have been teasing us over the weekend when he sent out a reminder that 2007 brought more acclaim for his drama about the young English servant implicated in the Lindbergh kidnapping case.
Presented over a year ago in a seated reading arranged by WashArts, "Violet Sharp" went on to win first prize at the Julie Harris Playwright Award Competition in Beverly Hills, was a finalist for awards at New York's National Arts Club and North Michigan's Forest Theatre, and was a semi-finalist in the Next Generation Playwriting Contest held by Reverie Productions in New York.
