Below is a list of novels that have woven the lives of the Lindberghs into the storylines. I have listed the books chronologically. There are probably many more books of fiction that have used the Lindbergh kidnapping/story to add flavor and drama. Perhaps some authors have even used the Lindbergh story so subtly that they may have gotten away with acknowledging that it had a hand in fleshing out their book?
1987 - Lindbergh's Son: A Novel by John Vernon
1991 - Stolen Away: A Novel of the Lindbergh Kidnapping by Max Allan Collins
1993 - Along Came a Spider: A Novel by James Patterson
1997 - Birthright: A Novel by Andrew Coburn
2003 - Dear Mrs. Lindbergh: A Novel by Kathleen Hughes
2004 - The Trial: A Novel by Jen Bryant
2004 - The Plot Against America: A Novel by Philip Roth
2008 - Correction of Drift: A Novel in Stories by Pamela Ryder
2009 - Lone Eagle: A Novel by Danielle Steel
2013 - The Aviator's Wife: A Novel by Melanie Benjamin
2013 - Jekyll Island: A Novel by Faye Bradley
2022 - The Lindbergh Nanny: A Novel by Mariah Fredericks

another one that was obviously inspired by the LKC was Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express".

Did any of these authors visit the Highfields estate to get a better sense of the place or material to help write theiir stories?
I wonder how the inside of the house has changed since the kidnapping? What furniture was moved out, and when? Some have said that the furniture was removed and burned. What, if anything, was saved?
What, for instance, would a tour of the house have looked like over the years? 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, etc.?

Great photos! Thanks! The guy outside the nursery window (picture #6) looks like he's just about to fall!
