Decided for fun on my way home from work to enter 1112 Sherman Ave, South Plainfield, into Waze - by coincidence, turns out I pass here frequently - and have driven past this house maybe 60 times - avoiding traffic on 7th. No one appeared to be home, but thinking to stop by one day and simply ask if they know anything at all about prior resident Elmer Bolliard, have heard the story, etc. If I learn anything I will post it here. I may try Wednesday.

Thanks Wolfman. Learning quite a bit. I knew about the furniture store - I remember it. Last time I clearly remember seeing it was around 1997.
Despite the variations - looks like the spelling was 'BOILARD.' Odd that he lived at two different addresses on Sherman. Elmer A died in May, 1965 at the age of 75. The second wife appears to have died in Florida? Attached was a bit I found.
This looks like a very dead end.
I already stopped by the house and rang the bell Tuesday, drove past again Wednesday - not lucky enough to catch anyone at home yet - but probably more value in pursuing the names in this memoriam bit than the current residents anyway.

So I have rung these people's doorbell three times now with no answer - sure it's a dead end altogether but can't help wonder and want to know if maybe they found something odd, knew the whereabouts of the table, or head anything at all about the former residents. Anyway - I plan to write them a letter - since it seems as if they do not want to answer the door.
In digging around more on Bolliard or Boilard - I did come across an article [posted on ronnelle's site by Sue Campbell] on his having been arrested for selling alcohol - as pointed out previously - according to the article - one bottle of whisky and some gin. Boilard had to go before JF Holland - that's a cool bulletpoint anyway. I stopped off at the Plainfield library this summer - and wouldn't you know it - closed for renovations - will have to try again.
I also found info in a funeral announcement that essentially says Elmer was the President at one time of his local 'Eagles Aerie.'
I guess I can't help but shake the feeling that someone had him wait 8 years - and then release the info. Really would be dope to connect that Thomas Cardone table bit and Boilard. The brace itself could have come from an older model table and been added to a 1940 model to make it seem legit.
