Someone replied to one of my posts about Hauptmann and Condon not living near each other by saying that Hauptmann and Condon each frequented City Island. If that's so, not much of a coincidence there. Remember, it was the 1930s. No television, no Internet. No air conditioning Not much to do in the summer other than to escape the stifling heat. City Island is a major attraction during the summer.
As far as Condon living in the Bronx, I am, quite honestly, suspicious of Condon. At best he was publicity hungry blowhard; at worst I think he was in on the kidnapping. Don't know which.
Mike invited me onto this board a while ago, and I told him that I would be civil and respectful, but I'd also tell the truth.I think Hauptmann was in on the kidnapping, and I don't think he was framed. The story about Fisch giving him a shoe box full of money is ludicrous. I just don't know to what degree Hauptmann was involved..
If you do onto Allen's board, you'll find I posted as "Cemetery Nat." I conducted a recreation of the famous "Hey Doktor" line. I greatly doubt Lindbergh could have heard it.
For better or worse I've lived i the Bronx my whole life and I've been past every famous spot in the Kidnapping a couple of dozen. Any questions about the Bronx, any photo desired, text me at 9175802890.

Assuming Condon was recruited by the kidnappers to be the go-between and return the child, in exchange for a hefty payment. He may very well have accepted this offer, not knowing the child was already dead. Doesn't it make you wonder why the kidnapper said they had to take on "another guy" for $20k then Condon mysteriously returned this money to Lindbergh?

rich sloan who did the Bronx Lindbergh kidnap tour many times, gave me a list of all the addresses of places pertaining to the case. I googled map the distances of hauptmans house to condon and other locations and I lost it as far as Lindbergh hearing hauptmans voice I have a newspaper article that a reporter heard Lindbergh say after hearing Hauptman at the trial commented that he was very sure it was his voice he heard. don't know how true or accurate it is

Could you please send a link to the "Hey Doktor" info from Allen's board? I'd really like to read more about your recreation!
