New Castle News, PA September 29th 1934:
Headline: Diary May Reveal Damaging Entries--(INS)
Cryptic markings in a secret diary, cleaverly interlaced with a coldly methodical recital of BRH's day to day financial transactions, today carried police close to the climax of thier extortion-kidnapping-murder case against the Bronx carpenter.
The diary, only recently discovered among BRHS effects, was closely guarded at the Bronx district attorneys office. Its notations, convering not only the money which since 1930 but also hints of his persoal life were regarded as of the utmost importance.
To Keep Contents Secret? So important, in fact, that aurthoities rufused to reveal the nature of the entries made with such Teutonic thoroughness both before and after when Charles A. Lindbergh Jur was snatched from his crib and murdered on March 1st 1932.
Question: Is this Howerdas secret diary evidence???

I don't think so Rick. Numerous notebooks of Hauptmann's were discovered during this time. Anna wouldn't have had any entries concerning Hauptmann's finances. I think the terms "secret" and "cryptic" are being used to sensationalize the notebook.

Why would Haupmann need such documentation if he were a 'lone wolf'? If he did have such secretive and cryptic writings, that would point to having associates and the need to keep track of payouts/expenses. Or the writer of that story was making much ado about nothing, and grossly overvaluing the importance of his records.

As I remember, Dave said it was Anna's diary which had been discovered. Again, going from memory of a discussion I seem to think he said she had written certain things in it which would be very interesting to any Researcher...like that he picked her up on March 1st but was late....etc.
Doesn't look like we'll see it any time soon....

Since he apparently will no longer post on the silly site perhaps he would be agreeable to posting here so we may be able to intelligently discuss the wealth of information he claims to possess. It would be a shame for such a serious researcher and one privileged to that much data to not share some of it with everyone.

Thanks for the mention Dave. Too bad you feel that you must use deceit in order to gather knowledge. If you have been monitoring this site you should know that we all freely and willingly give what we know. I would have no problem helping you or anyone else in any way I could . As for infiltrating the lair of the "rambling nuts" remember, aquila non capit muscas. What more can one say?
BTW, I would be careful about that ATF strategy stuff, might not sit well with the 81.
One more thing;
Sorry man but there is no opinion that this site has, period. My views are mine and mine alone. They have nothing to do with Michael and all of the other members. That's the beauty of it, we all have many different views and voice them freely. You don't have to have a specific agenda to post on this site.
