yesterday i saw a newspaper headline on e-bay of March 1932 with caption Lindbergh baby kidnapped and below the words "rancom note found on sill" i had been under the impression that the presence of a note wasn't even published for a few days. sounds like the news was given to the press in a timely manner here.

Kathy...yes,depending upon the date? i too thought for a couple weeks any ransom note was vehemently denied? But we have to remember how important Breckenridge thought it was to "play to the media" by walking down the drive to the road each morning to answer questions and keep Charlie in the headlines? Also, although there have been many denials that Mickey Rosner took the nursery note, or a copy, to NYC I think some news organization published it but I dont know what date.

It was being reported by most papers that it was found in the crib although, as Kathy discovered, there were varying accounts. I found an article in the Daily Mirror where a sub-title proclaimed: Jersey Police Deny Note Found in Crib.
