I recently discovered this excellent documentary video by Lemmino, which focuses almost entirely upon the Texas School Book Depository and its significance within the Kennedy Assassination. He also appears to have a whole host of other videos, all of which are free to view on YouTube. The Depository itself has long been a hotbed for debate within that case, based on the great number of conflicting eye (and ear) witness recollections and how Lee Harvey Oswald would actually have been able to fire the three fatal shots from its sixth floor corner window. I won't give anything away at all here, other than to highly recommend it, not only for its clear depth of research, but also its extremely high level of video production quality. I feel it also serves as a reminder that no singular aspect of any case has been proven or disproven until such degrees of rigour and scrutiny are applied impartially. At that point only its truth should remain standing, or at least be clearly visible. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u7euN1HTuU

Joe, thank you for your post and the link!
Truly, the JFK assassination is the "Crime of the (last) Century," in that, it is a filmed crime of the killing of a president that took place in broad daylight in front of many witnesses!
And after 60 years, the public still does not know what really happened!
This documentary is a simple reminder to not look elsewhere, but to focus on the Texas Schoolbook Depository...focus on the Texas Schoolbook Depository.
Thanks again, Joe!

Agreed, I watched his Ripper documentary last evening. Balanced and grounded viewpoints and his ability to portray the events so well visually, of course makes for never a dull moment. And the botched crime scene notwithstanding, I would love to see this individual's conclusions around the LKC equivalent of the School Book Depository, Highfields itself, notably the nursery and the exterior east side of the house locations.

I would also like to see Lemmino do a documentary on the LKC, specifically centering on the Hopewell nursery and surrounding area.
The Texas School Book Depository is analogous to the Hopewell house. I've always wanted to visit Dealey Plaza in Dallas. I believe LKC researcher Sam Bornstein paid a visit there many years ago.
Nothing can substitute for actually being at the scene of these crimes! "Assassination Vaction" is the term Sarah Vowell used for the title of her 2005 book. Vowell touches on the Kennedy crime, but does not cover it as she does the Lincoln, Garfield, and McKinley assassinations.
I wonder if Lemmino has been to Dealey Plaza?
According to the Ludovic Kennedy book, Betty Gow said the rooms in the Hopewell house were small-scale. And I think I remember someone saying that Dealey Plaza appears larger in pictures and film, opposed to experiencing the place in person.

Dealey Plaza is one of my bucket-list places to visit--along with Highfields. I have talked to people who've been to Dealey, and they all say it's much smaller than it appears in the Zapruder film and documentaries, etc. Either way, 100% agree that nothing can substitute for actually going to "the spot", where or whatever that spot may be. It's why I've recently been going round to every Civil War battlefield within driving distance of me.

LJ: I hope you get your wish to visit Dealey Plaza and Highfields! I appreciate that you drive to the places where Civil War battles took place. I've been talking about going to Gettysburg for years, but I've yet to get there.
xjd: I hope you also can get to Dealey Plaza and Highfields! Do you have the link to Sarah Vowell's reading of her book Assassination Vacation? I'd love to listen to it! Thanks!

LJ, not sure where you're located but this is in my town, Saturdays only. My husband has gone a couple of times. www.civilwarmuseumdoylestown.org . We also stopped here, recently, on our way to visit family in Asheville. www.vmi.edu/museums-and-archives/virginia-museum-of-the-civil-war/ . Excellent museum and location of field of lost shoes. Late 60s my husband visited a family friend at Highfields who was one of the troubled youth being treated there. According to him there was nothing remarkable about the interior of the house, whatsoever, But, he was not looking at it with any interest in the LKC. Sue, the only time I've been to Gettysburg was as a chaperone for my daughters middle school trip. The narrated bus tours are fantastic if you do go.

Gettysburg is well worth the trip, no matter where you’re located. I’m in Alexandria, just outside DC, and have been many times. Last trip I took was to Petersburg/Cold Harbor a few weeks back, and Yorktown before that, all about 3 hours south of me. That place in PA looks great. I went to Valley Forge last month and Johnstown earlier this year, to look at the flood site. Amazing to stand in the cut where the dam collapsed. And yeah, my understanding is that there’s nothing remarkable about the Highfields house itself. Back in, like, 2010ish, I joined this forum after years of just browsing it so I could get a better look at some interior photos someone posted here. The nursery’s now a computer lab. Fireplace is still the same though. As with the other places I’ve been, I’d just want to see it up close. It’s one thing to read about and study something. Different feeling to actually be on the spot. Also, Highfields is still a children’s home and is privately owned. Last I checked, the kids will give you a tour, but you need to call ahead.

LJ: I'll have to put more thought into going to Gettysburg! That you have been there many times tells me what a strong hold the place has on people! What I find so remarkable is that they are still finding human remains at these Civil War sites! Maybe not recently, but I know body parts have been found in the not too distant past. Well, it is, after all, the final resting place for thousands of American citizens!
Stella7: That is wonderful that you experienced Gettysburg by being a chaperone! When I go, I definitely would want to have a tour guide of some type!

When I lived in Houston, a friend from NY visited and wanted to go see Southfork Ranch from the TV series "Dallas". We get to Dallas and are driving through and caught a red light. I looked around and was almost confused because I was seeing history...every photo and news reel was right there. Got a little queasy. Yes the Texas School Book Depository (or as we referred to it as Texas School Book SUPPOSITORY) and the surrounding area is actually quite a bit smaller than you would think. We parked and visited the museum. One of the upscale hotels in Dallas also has one of the propellers scavenged from the Lusitania.

Ilovedfw: That is so interesting that you saw the Texas School Book Depository/Dealey Plaza by CHANCE! I think that is far better (and cooler!) than an anticipated, planned trip!
So you are another person who can confirm that Dealey Plaza is not as grand as the pictures and newsreels portray!
I wonder how that hotel got to acquire the Lusitania propeller?

When I was little we lived down the road from White Cloud Farm (Lindberghs rented farm house). We kids kept going into the woods to the river which we were forbidden to do. So one rainy afternoon, parents tried a scare tactic. Took us to Highfields. Sat in the car and listened to what happened. Once we heard Charlie's body was found "in the woods" and weren't told anyone was arrested, we were terrified this man was still roaming the woods in the area and never went back to the river.

Have you ever thought of publishing your unique adventures in a book, especially since you lived where famous history was made?
