Millions of words were printed in the newspapers covering the Lindbergh Kidnapping case. Among all the stories on the pages of newspapers all over America, there were some stories that were different. They really don't belong among the serious discussion threads on this board but they are attention getting for other reasons! I thought I would post some of them here. THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!

Regarding the first "news" article posted by amy35 on this thread, it certainly doesn't fit the "On the Lighter Side" theme. So Lindbergh supposedly fainted when he saw the body and had to be revived by stimulants? This had to be either an act on the part of CAL Sr. or a complete fabrication by the writer.

Oh my Gosh, Hurt!! Haven't you read Michael's Dark Corners Chapter 15? Lindbergh did anything but faint when he went into that morgue to view the corpse. It belongs on this page because it is a false/incorrect version of what happened. I have had the article for years. If I thought it had any basis as factual, it would have come up for discussion on one of the serious threads on this board. Lighten up Hurt.

Yes, amy35, I have read Michael's book. All three of us seem to agree that Lindbergh did NOT faint when he viewed the corpse. But I think we disagree on what we would consider funny.
So who told the media that Lindbergh fainted? Or was the story concocted out of thin air by the news service? Either way, the public in 1932 was ill-served by false media reporting.
BTW, I can't resist the comparison to current media to media back then, lying to protect the interests and reputations of its "heroes".

But I think we disagree on what we would consider funny. Yes we do. My apologizes to you and anyone else who found it disagreeable.
