See:
e) a copy of the November 1934 issue of the journal "The Police Reporter of New Jersey" with an article by Lieut. Robert W. Hicks, Jr. on "Ballistics vs Lindgergh Case". The article is signed by Hicks who has included two original b/w photographs relatied to the case (one of a scientist in his lab and the other showing two men in the woods pointing to what was probably the site where the body was discovered). Amy:
Quite interesting that the Lieut. Robert W. Hicks article is included with the never-published, typescript article for Ken Magazine in this Clement Wood collection.
I wonder if Robert Hicks agreed with Clement Wood that the baby was disabled, and that maybe Hicks and Woods believed that the death was a mercy killing accomplished by a (Lilliput?) gun.

Description: This collection centers around Clement Wood's article "When Will The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case Break?". Included is the 13-page original typescript of this article, submitted to the men's magazine "Ken: The Insider's World" in 1938. Paper clipped at the top corner is "Ken" magazines internal reference slip, stamped "Jun 1, 1938" with the pencil notation "cd sent 6-6". Wood argues that the disappearance of Lindbergh's child was an inside job. He suggests that the child was killed by the family because he was, in some way, disabled. I have not been able to determine if the article was published but the fact that the original manuscript was returned to Wood suggests that it did not appear in the magazine. WITH; a) 2 copies of Wood's retained carbons (with holograph corrections); b) a 14 page original typescript of an earlier draft, with extensive revisions, deletions and additions in Wood's hand; c) two TLS from the editor of "Ken", Arnold Gingrich, with carbon copies of Wood's replies; d) a 1-page TLS from the former New Jersey governor Harold G. Hoffman (on "State House" stationery) offering Wood support on his project; e) a copy of the November 1934 issue of the journal "The Police Reporter of New Jersey" with an article by Lieut. Robert W. Hicks, Jr. on "Ballistics vs Lindgergh Case". The article is signed by Hicks who has included two original b/w photographs relatied to the case (one of a scientist in his lab and the other showing two men in the woods pointing to what was probably the site where the body was discovered). Hicks does not comment on the child other than rhetorical flourishes describing him as "smiling and happy." He imputes only money-hunger and cunning malevolence to Hauptman. The article is in the collection of the Jersey City Pubic Library, which has a handful of issues of the Police Reporter.
