There are two separate Lindbergh newspaper "series" that I'd like to get my hands on. I have a few here and there which I found in various scrap books located at the NJSP Archives - but no where near the complete set. One series was written by former NYPD turned PI Val O'Farrell and the other by Reporter Larry Rue. Here is one of Rue's articles which was in the Washington Herald dated 3-7-34:

Michael, could you help me remember, somewhere in one of the books or maybe years ago on the board that there was some connection between Frances Smith and Dwight Morrow Jr. Is that right? Anyway the article about her was fascinating...thanks!

Michael, could you help me remember, somewhere in one of the books or maybe years ago on the board that there was some connection between Frances Smith and Dwight Morrow Jr. Is that right? Anyway the article about her was fascinating...thanks! I have some documentation which shows that Rue spent a considerable amount of time in Hopewell and the Bronx looking into the case. This article exemplifies (I think anyway) why I'd like to find them all because there's definitely going to be some unique material in them. It doesn't mean it will all be correct but I'd like to see it so that I could at least consider it. Lots of rumors surround Morrow Jr. Bill Norris's book goes into this in detail. As far as Frances Smith, there was some suspicion tossed DMJr's way. Whether it's a real lead or not should be determined through a competent investigation - but as it pertained to him there really wasn't one.

I can't understand why that photo of Frances Smith, presumably murdered former college roommate of Anne Morrow, appears in the Washington Herald with this lengthy article about Cerardi as a possible suspect in the LKC. Ms. Smith, unless I'm missing something, isn't mentioned at all in the article.
As an aside, those two would have been roommates at SMITH COLLEGE, which was, and still is, an elitist women's college in the picturesque New England town of Northampton, Mass, and the "family school" for the Cutter women. So the question would be if the murdered Ms. Smith was related to the founders of Smith College.

A picture of Joseph Cerardi, his wife and the housekeeper mentioned in the Larry Rue article.

It turns out that I have the complete series of Rue articles in the Washington Herald. It will take me some time to upload them as they are original newspapers now yellowed and crumbly. Michael, I see that you posted episode 19 out of the 24 articles, so I will skip that one.

Here is a list of the Larry Rue articles in the Washington Herald. I have discovered that although some of the articles are numbered up to 24, there is no chapter 17 - the articles go from 16 on Monday to 18 on Tuesday. I will be trying to upload the articles, but am having some problems with the size of the attachments, so it might come haphazardly. I won't do 19 as Michael has already posted it.
