Hi Ziki,
Louise Dudley Breckinridge, the daughter mentioned in the news story is Henry Breckinridge's daughter from his first marriage which was to Ruth Bradley Woodman in July 1910. Henry would actually be married three times during the course of his lifetime.
Alva Root was Henry Breckinridge's step-daughter. Alva was the daughter of Oren Root, Sr. and Aida Breckinridge, whose first marriage was to Oren Root, Sr. before she married Henry.
I hope this helps. I know, it can get very confusing!

Hi Amy, thank you for explanation. So Miss Alva Root doesn’t belong to the list of persons possibly involved or somehow close to the case, who died on suspicious circumstances during couple months/years after the kidnapping.

amy theres a new book out called bringing down the colonel. about breckenridges father who had a affair with a woman while married. I think she ended up bringing him up on charges author patricia miller called it the sex scandal of the gilded age
