Vovina--I dint know anyone could read my mind! Lets conjecture that this is inside job? Lets imagine there are 5 insiders at Highfields? Lets imagine that CAL comes home in the evening unexpectedly or earlier afternoon to quarterback the Hoax? Who are his team members/ Anne, Betty, Ollie Elsie? But who gets overlooked--the parents? - throwing pebbles at Charlies window was always a red herring--its doubtful Charlie was even there?
- wasnt the shoe print in the mud Annes-- a small?
- werent a womans small shoes one of the pair walking into the woods from the ladder?
- Oscar Busch and Inspector John J. Sullivan thought YES!

I haven't read " The Red Web " (yet) but it looks like there may be some leads linking up to the Crowley materials and the Whittaker/Means operations contained in the work. vovina VV--did you know that Aleister Crowleys ashes are scattered in Hunterdon County, NJ? As per his instructions, they were sent to karl Germer in NYC who succeeded him as head of OTO> This can be confirmed in Crowleys biographies and was recently reported...of all places...in Weird NJ Magazine by a woman looking for the exact site in Hampton, NJ!. Better than fiction... X-Project: Do What Thou Wilt: A Life of Aleister CrowleyJan 25, 2002 ... Aleister Crowley remains one of the most enigmatic and ... Instead, his ashes were either buried under a tree or scattered among trees on a friend's estate in Hampton, New Jersey, depending on whom one believes. ... www.xprojectmagazine.com/archives/.../aleistercrowley.html Thelemapedia: The Encyclopedia of Thelema & Magick | Aleister CrowleyNov 21, 2005 ... His ashes were later buried next to a tree in Hampton, New Jersey on the property of Karl Germer (Crowley's successor to OHO). ... www.thelemapedia.org/index.php/Aleister_Crowley

I make no claims about " mind-reading " ( LOL!) - perhaps facts makes one think along similar lines.
Crowley's ashes ending up blowing about NJ along with debris from the Hindenburg - and mythical attacks from the Mercury Theatre " War Of The Worlds " Martians - are enough to make the old Jersey Devil take wing over The Pine Barrens !!
And what happened to the sunlamp in the Nursery ? If one were a naive law enforcement investigator, given this and the " female " tracks ( and the general fact that parents are the first suspects even if there is a " ransom note " ), couldn't one conclude that Charlie may have been accidently killed by over exposure - the whole ransom business being a bizarre cover-up ?

vovina--great thought! I fully support your sunlamp theory! It adds up pretty good...and has come up in 25 previous posts...just search "sunlamp"... - its a pretty simple oversight to leave CJr under the sunlamp too long...even 15 min could be serious or fatal.
- This could help to account for the accelerated decomp, cranial swelling and the blackened skeleton with leathery skin?
- Im certain that there is a Lost Photo of the sunlamp in the Nursery taken that nite or next day [Michael?]
- even Paul H. Wendel tried to compensate for the odd condition of the corpse with some kind of bogus "chemical exposure" in his basement in his "con-fession".
- Maybe Murray Garsson got wind of all this deception when he called Betty Gow a "monkey and a liar" for no apparent reason on March 22 and made Anne go up and walk about in the Nursery twice@2am?
- Maybe we can link the Lost SUN-lamp to the Lost Symbol of the God of LIGHT? [Temple @ Heliopolis]

It finds its way into the basement. We know this because Curtis talks about it being there once he was imprisoned at Highfields (without being charged) because that's where they made him sleep. The question becomes why/when was it there? It could simply be that it was brought down there for Curtis due to the dampness....but if one examines how he was being treated (Paul Wendel) (Garrett Schenk) then this isn't above being challenged - meaning it may have been down there before he was.
Rab suggested this was the reason the child's skin was so dry. Not that he was damaged from it just the possibility of being under it so long that he was getting so affected by it.

The sunlamps movements may be a vital piece of the physical evidence puzzle. The possible connection to the Lost Symbol is very interesting. The reported body condition seems to relate directly to a hypothetical over-exposure. How this all might relate to the ransom shakedown has to be worked through. And then this set would have to be worked through the Whitaker-Means shakedown. Then various tests ( accounts, documentary evidence etc. ) would be necessary to verify/falsify these " working throughs ".

Alexis Carrel-eugenicist
Did he go to his friend's side at the time of the tragedy? Nothing I've been able to read says he did. I would think he surely knew of the baby's health condition. Would he have taken steps to spare CAL a less-than-perfect (in his mind) child? Known or unknown to CAL. Enter extortionists. Once the ransom was paid was the body placed on Mt Rose to spare CAL anymore ransom payoffs(?)

One would need some documents tracing Mr. Carrel's movements: for example, did he give lectures on the topic of eugenics or write articles/books on the subject during the time in question. If so, he would have to have met with agents and publishers, stayed in hotels etc. And the sunlamp's relocation to the basement, rather than a storage closet or shed, is troublesome: it is easy to envision a ghoulish post death baking, ala an improvised morgue in the basement, to hide the cause of death. The unsecured crime scene produces all manner of puzzles and problems ( LOL ! ).
