Rita: I just wanted to drop you a short note. For over 20 years I have studied the life of one Bruno Richard Hauptmann, and in some ways I know him better than some members of my own family. I will even go as far as saying anyone alive today. On the first day I started looking a his life I believed he had nothing to do with the death of Charles A. Lindbergh, III. It is the third and not Junior. I repeat death. Before I collected the information which I have now, I again found: 1. Did he do it? Really hope not. 2. Could he have done ? Yes 3. Was he the type person who could kill a child and still worship his own child? Yes 4. Could he have kept his wife completely out of all aspects of there financial life? Yes. He was that "Old World". Someday I'll tell you about my own Grandfather. Born the same year, came to the states the same year, only difference from Holland. 5. Could he be a good friend? No. 6. A Good Husband ? Sometimes . Did he cheat on his wife? Yes. Most all of this is known already. Does it add up to him doing the crime? Not really, but did he have a motive, yes. There was a motive. And no one has ever hit on it. Ever! Thats way I wanted your thinking. A thoughtful persons reasoning. Because I don't like knowing what I know. I'll get back to you in the fall. After thought: He didn't go to the Loew's and buy a ticket as reported. He did pick up Anna that Tuesday night. Fisch did give him money to hold but not in a shoe box. With the plan, Charlie never had a chance. Condon is Condon and never knew Richard before March 1st,1932. The old man had nothing to do with the crime. You have to have a 1930's mindset. Everyone, sorry to say, looks at the case through 21st century glasses. You can't do that! I'm sure I haven't set the case on fire with any new information in this post, but I personally feel better for having said it. This was really bad deal for a lot of good people. Rita, everything will look different after Hauptmann's birthday in November.
