Found this - old news to some - thought it may be of interest to others based upon my searches here and elsewhere - particularly around the investigation into the Geisslers, Leipold and his suicide, in addition to the 'mystery' trip taken by his wife to Canada.

Interesting stuff, Lee. This is one of the largest investigations done by the NJSP. I know that Michael will have something to share on the Faulkner angle in his upcoming The Dark Corners Volume 3. Really looking forward to that!!

Really looking forward to that!! Yes, I've got a whole section on this. I tried not to go "crazy" on it but I think what I reveal is useful to anyone thinking about researching this angle. There's some really interesting stuff. What I discovered about Leipold is something I'm still pondering to this day. Anyway, to give an update ... I'm thinking it might be out in October or November barring anything unforeseen. Whether its liked or hated there will be a lot of new information to consider.

We should be on here to gain information, not for buying books.

Frankly I'm glad for anything that Michael has shared on (t)his site for "free" over the years - More detailed and accurate information than most books on the topic and an invaluable resource to students of the case.
If he chooses to publish some of the fruits of his considerable research efforts in book form for posterity, so be it. His volumes will be great assets for future researchers interested in this case as well. He clearly isn't in it for the money.
If you don't like it, start your own site...

We should be on here to gain information, not for buying books. It's not because I want to Jack... it's because I have to. Some things are meant for message boards and some things this venue won't work for. Just the section on Rail 16 alone is about 90 pages. How's that supposed to work on a message board? In fact, the entire book must be read cover to cover for everything to be properly explained. So this is the best place for the debates concerning what's in them. Anyway, I know you like to curl up to a good book at night so why not one that has a topic you enjoy? Borrow it from the library if you don't want to pay for it. What the hell do I care?

This is awesome news!! I have been waiting patiently to hear this. It will be another revealing, informative, heavily documented book just like your other two volumes which are a real value to the study of this case! I am so glad you are announcing this on your message board. It is the most appropriate place for a head's up on any book you write. Thank you so much!

Sounds good and looking forward to it. So far the Dark Corners have been well worth it - we used to use expressions back in the day, 'Sheep dipping' and 'drinking from the fire hose.' It's a steady stream of solid information with the supporting references - I've enjoyed and dog eared V1 and I'm crashing through V2 now - more on Leipold is appreciated. I did find an article concerning Geissler's estate - small article - not all that much info - and the connection on the stock is covered in that FBI, so really - not much to be learned from it. Leipold in particular is like a ghost for all the info I was able to find.

Thanks for the support everyone. Part of the reason its so vitally necessary to put together, I think, is exemplified especially in V2. Quite often a counter-argument will contain things like "the police would never do that," or "that would never happen," etc. So I provide evidence to not only show its possible I prove it. So everything connects up and that takes many pages of information in order to do it. I know that Joe and I "battle it out" a lot but these debates are extremely important and help direct me to particular sources because if he is thinking something he's never going to be alone and I know others will have those same thoughts as well. So they need to be addressed. I wrote that Rail 16 is about 90 pages but that is by no means the total when it comes to the wood evidence. That's important because it all ties together. If someone is doing something in one place then it indicates the potential and likelihood for it to occur in others. In the end there will be information for all and I don't expect everyone to agree with everything no matter what their position is.

They are really not considered a serious publishing effort - they're a vanity press. And although I appreciate Michael's effort, and have told him so several times, including my being an influence in having Amazon initially listing the first one, they have several faults which make them second rate.

Hi Jack7, Interesting claim. Can you please post at least a few of the "several faults" that you've found in Michael's books?

And on that Amazon influence he maybe doesn't even know how I helped him there, but I did. I'm better known on Amazon UK than US if somebody checks.

I warned him about the similar sources, but he said he was going to stick with what he'd been doing which I commended him on, and congratulated him again about writing his book.

No indexes. Using NJSP sources ad-nauseum. I've explained why I do not create an index. I realize it forces people to read the entire book and some might not "like" that but its how the books are supposed to be read. Next, the sources are real. This too may upset people because its hard to refute source documentation one has never laid eyes on, and counters some sources that merely rely on an author's imagination and/or repeating something that is factually incorrect because it comes from bogus sources in the first place. My main source is the NJSP archive. Shouldn't it be? That's were about 90% of everything is currently located. And yet books were written when authors didn't even read 5% of what's there. Next, if you go through my footnotes you will see that I use multiple sources from many other places as well. Concerning the publisher what does it matter? I write on the Discussion Board and you seem to be okay with that so how does what I write in a book make any difference to you? What I've written is either true or it isn't. Read the footnotes then try to say I'm wrong. Can't be done. So attack the publisher? So, regardless of the publisher, these footnotes cannot be disputed. If so by whom? Those who have read this material are my best witnesses. And yet its those who have not that are my biggest nay-Sayers. That's a neat trick isn't it? There's people pretending to be Experts who never even stepped foot into an Archive but still telling people what to believe. No wonder they don't like what I've written - so point out that I've self published as if that makes the new/real facts go away? They have no other recourse since research is obviously not an option available to them. In the end, if someone wants to learn about the new information they read my books. If they do not they can pretend to know better somehow and dissuade others from doing so. Either way it makes no difference to me. Read or don't. But if one is saying something is wrong call them out on it. Find out how much research they've done and where. I've found people who do this have a couple of main sources: Fisher's books, the FBI Summary, and the Trial Transcripts. All sources that should be read, but there's no way in hell that even comes close to make one an Expert as my books (and V3 will) clearly show.

Sure: No indexes. Using NJSP sources ad-nauseum. Cya Wayne. Seriously? These are faults? I thought you were implying that Michael made factual mistakes in his books. To his credit, I have yet to find 1 mistake in over 600 pages. How do I know this? He uses check-able NJSP sources, all of which any of us can (and should read). If you don't like the sources "ad-nauseum", here's an idea... don't read 'em. Since we're on the subject, again I'm going to reference Jim Fisher's The Lindbergh Case. Chapter 1. Seven pages. 17 glaring mistakes. Why? Because Fisher either did not read the NJSP sources (as Michael did) or he did not cross-reference them (as Michael did). God bless the NJSP sources. And the index thing? Get the book on Kindle. Boom! Instant index. Life is simple.
